Tax Preparation and Financial Literacy

Northwest Indiana A$$et Building Campaign
Our mission is to link financial awareness and education, with tax preparation and asset building for low income taxpayers in and around Lake County.

We are more than a tax preparation services. We truly care about long-range improvements in the lives of people.
· Our residents need to avoid paying usury fees of tax preparers and refund anticipation loans
· Our families need to have bank accounts and basic understanding of money management to accomplish their financial goals.
· Our working families need to claim the Tax Credits they are entitled to.

Each tax season since it began, the Asset Building Campaign has trained and supported volunteers filing free income taxes. ABC has hosted “Super Saturday” events where multiple services come together to prepare taxes and connect people with needed services.

Northwest Indiana Community Action serves as the fiscal agent and lead organization for the Asset Building Campaign.
