2010 NWICA Senior Farmers Market Program
The Senior Farmers Market’s provides seniors access to fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers. NWICA in partnership with the Indiana State Health Department will host again this year’s Senior Farmer’s Market Voucher Program in Lake and Porter counties. The program provides up to $24 for seniors to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers markets and food stands.
The health benefits of consuming fresh produce, the social interaction provided at the market, and the financial savings makes this a highly desired program for both our seniors and farmers. NWICA objective is to continue to promote domestic consumption of agricultural fruits and vegetables. This will only result in good health and longevity for the clients we serve.
